Day 268... Piccadilly Circus

Half Off Depot had a fabulous deal for the Piccadilly Circus today. $19 for 2 adults and 4 kids plus an additional 29% off for Leap Day. Averages out to under $3 per head. LOVE great deals like this. Generally we try to do things that are mostly free.. I figured this deal was to good to pass up.
Waiting for the show to begin.
Not happy because I would not spend crazy amounts of money on junk food. He obsessed the entire time we were there. I think the other three have finally realized that when I say NO I mean NO.. Not spending money on over priced snacks. $8 popcorn, $6 snow-cones and $12-$15 cotton candy.
Having a great time at the show!!

The boys favorite part.. The motorcycles.
Maddie loved the ponies!!
The strong man show

The Grand Finale.
A fun show! Is it Ringling Brothers? No not at all. It is however a cute circus for the money. It reminds me of the circus shows I have seen from the old days where they come to town for the day A fancy dog and pony show with some elephants, a white tiger, and some motorcycles thrown in.

Day 267.... An afternoon at the Capital

This afternoon we headed to the State Capital in Atlanta for our day of fun!!
Our inspiration for this field trip came from Makenna getting to work as a page yesterday for State Rep Josh Clark. Here she is before her paging session began. She is on the House floor. She looks good as a leader don't you think??
When Makenna was little she wanted to be President of the U.S. She wanted to be in charge and told me that when she got to the White House she would be painting it purple.. :) I think it is funny that her first PAID job ( $10) was at the State Capital in Atlanta. Maybe she will end up as a politician one day!!
John took this shot of the House floor in session.
The Capital is open M-F 8am-5pm except on legal holidays. Today Carson was out of school early so we took advantage and headed there for the afternoon.
The Greeneteam on the steps inside the Capital. It really is a beautiful building.
Outside the Governors office. Who knew you could go inside?? We would have never dared. The kind lady at the information desk told us to go on in.
Once inside you could sign your name as a visitor for the day. The kids loved this part.
A nice local Senator introduced himself. He even played a quick money game with the kids. Guess who pocketed the quarter and took it home?? Ms. Maddie. Yes I think he let her win. :)
Having fun at the capital. Daddy stopped one of the lobbyist and had him explain what his job is. It was neat to be there on a day when the house was in session. Lots of hustle and bustle.
This is one of the coolest display cases at the museum. A two headed calf and snake are inside.
Guess what they give away in the Governors office?? Georgia Peanuts. Here Carson is in the museum part of the capital. He is by the Industry section where they talk about the peanut industry going from a 7 million dollar business to a 70 million dollar business. Lots of fun and interesting information is included in the museum section.
We had lots of fun visiting the State Capital. This is a great free field trip if you are looking for something fun and educational to do with your kids.

Day 266... Pizza and Cake Batter Pancakes!!

Tomorrow is National Pancake day. I thought we would try a couple of  not so traditional pancakes  for fun. The first was a Pizza Pancake. Sounds so amazingly wonderful.. Sadly for me it still needs tweaking.. I think it could be good, maybe even great but the recipes we used today just didn't quite cut it.

The kids thought they were delicious and gave them a 9 and were asking for more. I guess for me I want it to really have the pizza flavor and the gooyness. My favorite part about a pizza is the toppings. This recipe seemed to be about the bread. Once we get them tweaked I will be sure to send out the recipe.
Kenna pouring her pizza pancake into the pan.
Note to self... must make smaller. They should be silver dollar size for dipping, and not so much breading. Thin the batter.
Jack was very happy with his and would have eaten more.
Love the red white and blue on this cake batter pancake.. John and I think if we tweak the recipe it would make a great crepe recipe?? Hmmm the possibilities.
We had no complaints from the peanut gallery on this sweet treat.

John said both of the recipes were solid but neither spectacular. Tweaking needs to be done in our opinions to make them yummy,  fabulous, and 10 make again!!  We love the ideas just not the overall product/taste.

Day 265.... Climbing Stone Mountain

I woke up this morning feeling pretty good and thought we should go climb Stone Mountain today!!
John and the boys!!
The Greeneteam absolutely loved climbing the mountain and thinks that when the 365 is done we should climb it monthly or more!!
Ms. Fashion girl Maddie Mae!!
Taking a rest before we got to the top!!
The nicest guy offered to take our photo.
John and I at the top!!
If you head to Stone Mountain to climb plan for at least 2 hours top to bottom. Also plan to have lots of water and snacks. It takes a lot of energy, and refueling is necessary!! I thought today in the high 50's was perfect weather to go. It was very busy so apparently lots of people thought the same thing.
WE DID IT !!

View from the top!!

Aunt Teresa  getting a picture with Snow White. She said it was the first time she had ever had her photo taken with a princess!! Thanks for coming Aunt Teresa!!
Makenna was the most excited about going to Golden Corral. It is her favorite restaurant and we very rarely go!! A special treat indeed!
Daddy loves creating all kinds of delicious food!!
Carson loved making his own cones and going to the bar himself.
Can you say Chocolate Fountain?? Maddie went a little crazy dipping things into chocolate!!

A  fun, delicious, and yummy, day!! Thanks again Grandma!!

Day 263... Lincoln Logs and Winner, Winner Bingo!!

Tonight for fun we got out the kids giant set of Lincoln Logs. Years ago I bought several large lots of them off of Ebay so that we could all build together.
The girls super proud of the little town we all made.
Carson worked on his own spy kids house!!
After we finished with Lincoln Logs we all headed to Carson's school for another night of BINGO. Last month when we played we were all losers.. Tonight we brought Grandma and it was Winner, Winner, Winner, Winner!! Talk about fun!
