Day 322... Legoland

Today the kids had a field trip to the new Legoland at Phipps Plaza!!
Daddy and the team ready for the adventure. We booked this field trip for Jack. He is a huge fan of Lego's and we thought he would love it.
Jackson was ahead of everyone else. He was running towards Legoland. Love my boy!!
Apparently Legos come from these tiny little plastic beads!! The kids and daddy thought the process of making a Lego was neat. At the end they each got a Legoland Lego to take home.
They loved seeing Atlanta in Lego's. The King and Queen.
The Stadium!!
Maddie loved the stage at Callaway Gardens. Singing of course!!
Jack and Kenna building a car. You could then race it down the track.
One of the two rides at Legoland.
They all agreed Merlins Apprentice was their favorite of the two rides!! They really liked the other ride Magic Quest too but because the line was so long they only went on it once.
Welcome to the 4D Legoland Movie Experience.
Kenna and Jack at the 4D movie. It lasted about 15 minutes and was about a Lego team working together to get a mysterious package. They gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Everyone really enjoyed Legoland. John said he thought it was worth the group ticket pricing. Check it out before paying retail. I have been told you only need 10 kids to make a group. The kids loved the rides, seeing Atlanta made of Lego'and really liked the 4 D movie. My kids were probably at the top of the age range for this adventure. We would recommend it for ages 3-12!!

Day 321... Earth Day Fun!!

Our first stop: The beach. We had lots of fun playing! We also picked up garbage that we saw and placed it trash cans. Trash belongs in cans, not on roadways, sidewalks, or beaches. Especially mamas favorite beach!!
Next: We went home and ate lunch. Let's face it after playing for 2 hours and helping the Earth we needed food!! Next step was painting. Ms. Tiffany brought really cute pots for all of us to paint and later plant in.
Baking was next. Tiffany saw a cute flower cookie pop idea on the front of Family Fun. Everyone got to make two!!
I had seen an idea on Pinterest for Earth Cupcakes.. with a wannabe Buddy Valastro in the house we had to try them.
Next we planted carrots in 2 liter bottles. Please grow!!
Getting our dirt just right for planting.... we hope!!
Our pots were dry so we planted the beautiful flowers Ms. Tiffany brought.
We then watered them!!
Last we were so very proud of them!! Can he be any cuter??
We also had fun playing with the squirter!!
Last craft.. Bird feeders!!
Finally it was time for dinner and the anxiously anticipated dessert.
Carson ready to eat his Earth day cupcake!!
Happy Earth Day 2012.
Thankful for friends to spend the day with!!

Day 320... IMAX: To the Arctic at the Fernbank Museum of History

Today we were on an assignment from Expedition Mom to give a review of Fernbank Museums new IMAX show To The Arctic. We have never been to an IMAX show before.
The kids were AMAZED at the size of the screen. It is Atlanta's largest and stands five stories.
The movie was so good. The kids loved it!! Scenery was gorgeous,  music amazing, and the Polar Bears just beautiful. When we finished we headed out to see the rest of the museum.
Downstairs they had lots of Polar Bear activities. Matching game, toss game, chalk rubbings and more!
Once finished we headed to see the rest. You know how much I love these funny face photos!! :)
Happy Almost Earth Day!!
The kids all loved the Naturequest room upstairs. Here Carson is with a few turtle friends.
This was a great adventure for Earth Day weekend!!
At the end we went back to the gift shop area. Carson decided to take an advance on his birthday money to buy this beautiful book. Here he is with the award winning photographer who took all the pictures.
Florian Schulz. If you know my boy Carson you know what a heart he has for animals. Polar Bears are apparently no exception.

His book was signed: To Carson:
"Enjoy the stories about the Arctic Animals. They need friends like you. When I was your age I started to take my first photographs with a camera. Now it is my job. Everyone told me it was not possible to make a living but here I am. So never let anybody tell you that you cannot do something. Enjoy!!"

Thanks Fernbank for a great day!!

Day 319...Brainteasers

I was really excited this week to find this set of Brain teasers at the Goodwill. I paid $2 for all of these. They were all in one tin still wrapped in the plastic. Score!! I love getting new games but will only buy them when I can get a deal or steal!!
Ready to play!!
Daddy and Maddie teamed up first on a turtle and the hare race game!!
The boys chose to do a racing game first.
Kenna and I played challenger!!
Jack (the red peg) thrilled with his race car victory over me!!

These are a lot of fun.. Such a steal at $2. I would pay that much for the Triangle Conqueror game that you typically find on the tables at Cracker Barrel Restaurants. The tin appears to have come from Target if you are interested in trying to find something similar. My tip is to keep your eyes open at thrift stores, garage sales, and yard sales. That is where I find most of our games!!

Day 318... All you can eat Ice Cream for dinner!!

My friend Holly has an annual tradition. On the first day of summer she hosts an all you can eat ice cream for dinner party!! I loved the idea and thought we would try it sometime during the 365. Today seemed like the perfect day for it.
Our morning started with Maddie having oral surgery. Here she is just home. She was hurting, and so very sad. Jack and I tried to cheer her up with a special spot, and all of her friends but no such luck.
Around 2:00 she started feeling a little better and wanted some Jello!!

The mail came and it cheered her up too. Thanks Uncle Gary and Aunt Liz for the Birthday card.
Carson's reaction when I told him the fun of the day!!
Kenna making her 1st bowl of ice cream. She surprisingly used self control and only ate 2 bowls. If you know how much she loves sweets you would be proud!! She must be growing up!!
Jack was quite certain when we started that we would eat all of the ice cream. Not even close. There is plenty for tomorrow and probably the next day!!
Daddy who is a huge ice cream fan enjoyed his first and second bowls. The third made him sick!!
Up from the couch for her 4th small bowl of ice cream. I would say she is on the road to recovery!!
Thanks so much to everyone for praying for our girl today.
