Day 38... Puzzle Time
Normally I would save Puzzles for a rainy day or a cold winter day but today we had a sick boy so they just seemed like an easy thing for us to do. The kids love them and are always competitive trying to beat each other. I love having them as an activity and plan to have a puzzle table this winter with 300-500 piece puzzles to work on. Dollar Tree has a great assortment and at one dollar the price can't be beat!
Carson my sick boy getting some help from his daddy!
Maddie loves working on puzzles! She usually even names them. Cute!
Kenna is my puzzle expert. Amazing how quick she can do a puzzle!
These two finished within a second of each other. Way to go Jack and Kenna!

Day 37... Fun Jar Activity-Spray Park and Ice cream
Today was filled with fun. I made a fun jar last night filled with easy activities that I do not have to plan. The kids are going to take turns picking from the jar and that will be the activity of the day. Carson chose the number one ticket so was the first to get to pick. The activity Laurel Spray Park in Gainesville. The kids have grown up going here and have done it every summer since they were babies. Sadly this will be the last year. Makenna will be over the age limit and honestly they are just getting too big for it. It was nice to cool off but after an hour they were ready to go. We had a quick picnic and then headed to our favorite Ice Cream Store Corner Drugs. They have Ice cream for just 50cents a cup/cone. What a deal! It was a fun day for under $20 including entertainment, Picnic food, and Ice cream for five people.
And the fun activity is????

Day 36... Feeding Ducks
Tonight we headed to Sims Lake Park in Suwanee to feed ducks. It is really a nice park with lots of shade for walking and a beautiful lake with Ducks not Geese which was really nice. We have been doing this activity with them since they were babies and they still all love it. It was fun to find a new spot to go for this family favorite activity. We will definitely be going back.

Day 35......Mandala's
Today we colored Mandala's. I have seen these before but have never had the kids work on them. I printed up several last night FREE from the net and today we got out the colored pencils and went to work. Lots of fun relaxing and coloring. We even put on some relaxation music and just enjoyed the peace.
When we completed them I covered them in clear contact paper and attached magnets. We worked too hard on them to let them end up in the waste basket. The kids love them and want to know when I will be printing out more!! Maybe I will put together a Mandala folder so that when we are in the mood we can just pull a sheet and be creative!! A fun inexpensive craft project!

Day 34.. Tubing the Hooch!!
Day 34 was tons of fun as we did our 2nd annual trip tubing down the Chattahoochee River in Helen. The only thing missing from this fun day was my boy Jack who is still in Ohio on vacation. We used Helen Tubing and Water Park with the pink tubes. I like using them because if you know the back roads through Cleveland you can avoid the traffic in Helen. We took the long ride about 2.5 hours. When we arrived back to pick up our bus CNN was filming us. Makenna did her best to get on film so if you see her on t.v. let us know.
This is a super fun and affordable family activity at just $3 a person. We highly recommend taking a push stick per team (Broom handle with string works great) and wearing tie shoes, water shoes or strap on sandals.

Day 33.... Mosaics
Today we worked on a large butterfly mosaic. I ordered the mosaic pieces from Oriental Trading and the large butterfly came from there as well. It was left over from a party we had a few years ago. I am glad I suggested to the girls working on a single butterfly as opposed to all of us making our own. It is a time consuming craft and is kind of like working on a jigsaw puzzle. After an hour or so they were getting tired. I told them that we could finish it a few pieces at a time! Once we get it done I will add a completed picture. :)

Day 32... Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Fil A
Today's fun was making cow costumes for Chick Fil A'S Cow Appreciation Day and having lunch at Chick Fil A. Maddie decided to be a FRENCH COW.. She came up with Moo La La!! The folks at Chick Fil A thought the girls were adorable and so did their daddy!! Lots of fun creating the costumes and getting new ideas for next year. Cow Appreciation day is all day today so you still have time to make a costume and get your free lunch or dinner!! EAT MOR CHIKIN!!
