Day 74... Summer Outdoor Concert

Tonight we went to a summer concert outdoors at Cauble Park in Acworth. It was their belated 4th of July celebration. Let me just say what a beautiful park Cauble is. It has a beautiful beach, Pier, pavillion, play grounds, and concert area. We had a great time with friends picnicking, blowing bubbles, swimming in the lake and listening of course to the music. What a great way to end the summer!!

Day 73.. Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches

YUMMY homemade ice cream sandwiches were on the agenda for tonight's family fun!! I blogged about these in the Spring. They are super simple to make. The ingredients: Cookies, Ice cream, and Sprinkles.

The kids love getting to make their own. I think being in charge of how much ice cream they scoop on is a big part of the fun. The other part of course is eating them.

Ready for some yummy fun!
STEP 1: Putting a generous scoop of ice cream between two of your favorite cookies.
STEP 2: Roll the sandwich in jimmy sprinkles.
STEP 3: Admire and EAT your creation!

Day 72.. COUSIN FUN!!

The kids were super excited for today's fun. Their cousins Alex and Jonathan moved to Boston in December and we have been missing them like crazy!! It was so fun to see them today.

We played on the Slip N Slide, played the Wii, ate, and even celebrated Birthdays. Thanks for taking the time to visit us while in town Aunt Jill and Uncle David! It was great to spend time with all of you!! Looking forward to the next time!

Day 70... Swan House

The Historic Swan House was on our FUN agenda today as it was a FREE ADMISSION DAY for Home Schoolers. The Swan House is "an elegant, classically styled mansion" that was built in 1928 for the Inman family. It is "known as one of the most photographed places in Atlanta."

The kids loved the inside and kept comparing it to The Biltmore. They thought Biltmore was prettier on the outside and obviously way larger with much nicer gardens. However, they all agreed that the inside of The Swan House was lighter, airier and decorated better. I couldn't help but laugh at their comparisons of the two homes. Before July they had never heard of The Biltmore, and now they are suddenly design experts.

There was NO photography inside at Swan House so I have only outside pictures. Love the one of the girls and I. Carson was my photographer for this.. Thanks Bear!!

Day 69.... Night Time Slip N Slide!!

Tonight's adventure came out of desperation for lack of a FUN ACTIVITY earlier in the day. I realized at about 8pm that we had not completed the fun. UGG! Panic set in. I checked my craft ideas, food ideas, places to go etc. I was NOT in the mood to do any of them. Finally at 8:30 I remembered that I had picked up a Slip N Slide on Clearance at Kroger. Maybe we could use that? At the last minute I grabbed some glow sticks from my stash of items and thought maybe it would be easier to see the kids running if they were wearing one. Love glow sticks but hate them. It seems like one out of every two works UGG!!

The kids LOVED this activity. They loved the glow sticks and, as seen in the pictures of the boys, they used them as though they were ninja's fighting in the night!! Using a Slip N Slide is fun, but somehow using it at night ended up being a little more daring and a lot more exciting!

Day 68.... Horses, Horses, Horses!!

Today we took the kids to Flowered Rock Farm in Cumming.
Carson was in Heaven grooming his horse.
Carson getting ready to go for a short ride!

The kids played a horse racing game.
Outside of Flowered Rock Stable.
Love this one of all of them!

Flowered Rock Farm is a great horse farm in Cumming, GA. They offer a World of Horses 90 minute camp for kids ages 3-11. They spend about 10 minutes at each station rotating through different activities. We got a special Living Social Deal which made this fun field trip an affordable one!!
