Day 31.. Girls Spa Night

Day 31 was NOT so fun!! We had moods and attitudes for spa night so truly not the greatest time. Oh well.. You win some/most and occasionally you lose some. I would recommend this activity for under age 10 based on tonight's results. Apparently at age 11 you think you can do everything yourself.

Day 30.... Library visit and cards

A visit to the library was the fun for day 30!! The girls LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the library. To make the trip extra special we let them each get their own library card and then use it to check out their books. They could not wait to get home. The evenings entertainment..READING of course!!

Day 29.... Fun with Watermelon

Grandma gave us a watermelon to take home yesterday. I remembered a post that my friend Nessa shared from sunscholars.blogspot.com. It was a watermelon shark. I looked it up and thought we would attempt it. I knew it would be a directional craft so put baby John in charge. It took us about an hour to create. The kids loved making it and can't wait to eat it tonight for dessert!! Cost for this project is under $10 including buying the watermelon. FUN!!

Day 28..... Family Reunion

Today is the 4th of July. We are lucky to have a standing family reunion every 4th. It is always a great time rain or shine!! Today we celebrated my Grandmas 89th Birthday... FUN, FUN, FUN..!!!

Day 27... BOATING ON LAKE CHATUGE

Today we took a boat ride with our friends on Lake Chatuge. It was a beautiful day to be on the lake. Thanks Tiffany and Gene for including us in your 4th of July fun!!

Day 26... Sunflower Festival

Today we went to the 10th annual Sunflower Festival in Rutledge,GA. The kids loved the Enchanted Garden, the horse, archery, seeing the sunflowers and the hayride. If the weather had been cooler it would have been GREAT.. Sadly it felt like a 100 degrees. Would love to go sometime when the weather is cooler. The admission price is not bad. $5 for adults, $2 for kids. Under age 4 is free. The Festival runs through July 4th. Wish my pics were better but it was so hot and sunny that everyone is squinting. Oh well.. maybe next year.

Day 25... Out to breakfast

Aunt Dee Dee is our guest sponsor today. She took the kids out for a very special breakfast at MiMi's Cafe!! They loved it. We never go out for breakfast. John is a former IHOP CHEF so spending money on breakfast food is NEVER an option. Heading to MiMi's was a treat!! Dee Dee also started a special family craft project with them that we will be working on this weekend. We should have it done in time for the 4th of July!! Stay tuned!!
