Day 313.... Tie Dye Fun!!

Tie Dying T-shirts has been on my list of fun things to do with the kids for the last few years. Today we finally did it. The kids had fun trying to design the way their t-shirts would come out. We bought a kit for $5 that was on clearance at Walmart. It had been $10. I thought for the money it was a great deal. It included the bottles, three dyes, rubber bands, gloves, and instruction kit. I have saved the bottles, instructions, and rubber bands so that we can do it again. We picked up t-shirts for $2.50 at Walgreens. Total for 4 shirts $15.
Kenna was the first to give it a go!! She had done this before at a birthday party.
We used plastic garbage bags to cover the table. I would suggest giving each kid their own as the die can get messy and screw up your design.
The end result.. Not bad for a first try. I think my favorites were Maddie and Jack. Kenna needed more color at the top and Carson's is good but he got some of the purple die on his in a few spots. Super fun!! We may try it again for the 4th of July!!

Day 312.... STARE

We played a really fun game tonight called Junior Edition STARE.
Each player is given 30 seconds to stare at a picture card.
Then, based on the number that you rolled you have to answer a question on the back of the card.
Some are easy, and others are quite tricky.
The first person to get around the board is the winner. I picked this up at the thrift store at Christmas time for $2. I checked and it is available on Amazon for $22 new and $12-$15 used.  We loved this game and had so much fun playing it. It is perfect for ages 6-14. It was lots of fun for all of us and I have a feeling will be a new family favorite!! This would make a great birthday or Christmas present. Family fun at it's best!!

Day 311... How does our Garden grow?? Step 1

GG is our blog sponsor tonight. She gave me some Easter money and told me to do something fun with the kids. I decided to use the money to help us transform our disaster of  a side yard. Both my mom and brother have wonderful gardens and I want one too.
Here is our before.. UGG so embarrassing!!
After!!  Lots of hard work today. Good job Greeneteam!!.
Once you started working together you did a fantastic job.
We hope to have sunflowers along the fence line. We bought these cute welcome Sunflowers at the Dollar Tree.
Jack was not thrilled with the night of fun and said it was our worse day of fun yet!! If you know him at all that is not a surprise. How can I have twins that are so completely opposite??
Makenna and Maddie worked really hard on the soil along the fence line. If excitement alone could grow our garden it would be beautiful. Love how my girls can see the possibilities.
Carson did a great job and loved being outdoors. He came inside after we were done, and started googling pictures of beautiful gardens.  He dreams of one day having his own tractor.
Stay tuned for part 2 in early May. Grandma is coming to help us plant.
That is when the real fun will hopefully begin.

Day 310... Random Act of Kindness

Today on the way home I asked the kids what they wanted to do for fun. They through out an idea or two but most were similar to something we have already done. After 309 days it is getting a little hard to come up with something new. We kept throwing out ideas until we got to our exit.

When we stopped to get off, there stood a young man and his wife/girlfriend holding a cardboard sign. It said something about running out of money as they were travelling. I knew right then that it was time to do a  random act of kindness day of fun. (In three years of living here there has never been a person with a sign standing on my exit) I pulled the few dollars I had in my purse and gave them to him. He seemed so very grateful.  The rest of the way home we talked about other kind things we could do today.
We stopped outside our neighborhood and picked some wild flowers.
When we got home we made notes to attach to the vases.
I have been saving jars. They were perfect for these wild flower bouquets.
We also baked a batch of daddy's cookies to give out.
The first stop we made was to the library. The girls thought giving the workers cookies would be nice. It turns out it is National Library week. When the librarians saw the girls bringing cookies to them the girls said their faces lit up. Kenna and Maddie couldn't wait to tell me the news.

We stopped by Chick Fil A and gave them a bouquet of flowers. The kids thanked them for always being so nice.  The next set of cookies we took to our bank. We gave the last set of flowers to the customer service center at our favorite grocery store.   It was fun today to do something for others!!

Day 309... Tailgating!!

We are taking CRCT tests this week at the Gwinnett Center. It is a lot of running around to drop off/pick up etc. We decided that having a CRCT tailgate picnic for lunch would be fun!!
We packed up the pillows, blankets, and chairs and grabbed some pizza for lunch.
The kids loving on daddy!!
We brought a frisbee to play with, crosswords, and books to read.
Jack pretending to save the world from something!!
Jack took this one of us!!
Love this picture!! Does life get any better than this?? Not when your 8 and enjoying a beautiful Spring day outside!!

Day 308........ CD CRAFT

Tonight we used old CD's to make a craft.
The kids did this several years ago in VBS.
Maddie deciding what to make. Hmmmmm?????
Carson working on his CD...
Jack said "Mom I am under a lot of pressure with CRCT.. I just can't think of what to make." LOL!!
Jack and I  brainstormed and came up with this fun alien CD... Love my boy Jack.
My thoughts for making the CD craft... Put out lots of options and let everyone use their  imaginations.  Imagination Destination!!!
You never know what you might end up with.. In our case it was three fish, an alien, and two abstract art designs!!
